Morris-Jenkins’ ‘Bobby’ makes a stop at Samaritan House

Actor J.R. Adduci, who plays “Bobby” from the Morris-Jenkins commercials, spent Tuesday morning eating breakfast with staff and clients at Samaritan House – where homeless people recover after being released from the hospital after surgery. Morris-Jenkins owner Dewey Jenkins has supported Samaritan House for over a decade through Rotary Club nonprofit projects. Brad Goforth, executive director of Samaritan House, is a fan of “Bobby” and was excited about his visit.

Samaritan House, NC

It is with great sorrow that we share with you that we lost a valued employee and friend early this morning. David Shaw passed away last night at 1:30 am. David came to Samaritan House exactly five years ago today as one of our guests. Eventually he came to work as one of the staff. He had been battling cancer for a long time, and had been readmitted as a guest just before he went to Hospice. Many of you will remember him as he took care of our guests and tried to give back for the care we had given him. He will be sorely missed.

Special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care for the tremendous care they provided our friend in his final days. They have helped us at Samaritan House for many years and the care they showed David reinforces how important that help really is. Thanks.

Please keep David in your thoughts and prayers.
